Docker webinar

All about technology, not only for TECH people

You are cordially invited to our Docker webinar event organized by Braining Hub and Stylers Group.

The purpose of the webinar is to give an insight into the way as Docker can ease life, be this development or business side.

And what’s all the hype about Docker or containers in general?

  • One way to think about it as a new standard way of packaging applications. One of the most error-prone step in delivering software is moving it from dev to prod. To solve time-consuming „It was working on my machine” type issues is to make the whole stack (anything on top of the kernel) movable as a lightweight VirtualMachine.
  • It will make continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) a seamless automated process, making new releases more frequent and stable, leading to a shorter Time To Market.
  • On the operation side environments became movable from on-prem to the cloud, vice versa, or even in a hybrid solution. Costs of server resources could be also reduced by using a more elastic and dense resource utilization.
We will have a Q&A session at the end of the webinar.

The event is free, but participation is subject to registration.

PRESENTER

Lajos Papp
Lajos PappDevOps trainer, Docker evangelist

Lajos was working for 13 years as a Java developer and architect at EPAM. As usual in the outsourcing business, clients were diverse both in location and industry, anything from Swiss banks, leading hotel booking company, German online retail store and various European telcos.

After EPAM vent public, Lajos and his college Janos Matyas went all-in with their shares and co-founded SequenceIQ in early 2014. The small startup was focused on letting Hadoop run in docker containers in a cloud-agnostic way. The ambitious plan was getting fulfilled after a bit more than 1 year, when Hortonworks acquired them in 2015 April.
In 2017 BanzaiCloud was born to continue the cloud-native journey, to make running and managing containerized workload easier. The product’s aim was to hide the complexity of Kubernetes and make enterprise features available in a standardized way on-prem or in the cloud.

In all his past 20 years of professional life, his focus was knowledge sharing and automating all the things. In 2018 focus has been shifted towards consultation and delivering trainings/workshops. Notable conferences include: GotoBerlin, GotoCopenhagen, CraftConf.
He is the organizer of the Docker Budapest Meetup and co-organizes the Kubernetes Meetup.
